Mayberry

A great place to visit while you are in the area of the reunion is Mount Airy, North Carolina. It is the home of Andy Griffith and the TV show still lives on in the streets daily.

Mayberry

Step back to a simpler time when you visit Mount Airy. Actor Andy Griffith grew up here,
and it's no coincidence that a stroll down Mount Airy's Main Street reminds people of the
town of Mayberry from The Andy Griffith Show. Mount Airy, Pilot Mountain, Dobson and
Elkin the Communities of Surry County offers something for everyone. Outdoor enthusiasts
will enjoy riding down the breathtaking Blue Ridge Parkway, hiking at Pilot Mountain State
Park, or canoeing on the Yadkin River. Bluegrass and traditional music lovers can take in a
jam session or live radio show every Saturday morning in Downtown Mount Airy. History
buffs can delve in to the area's colorful past at the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History
and by visiting the county's myriad of historic sites. Taste fine wines and tour the grounds
of Old North State Winery located on Main Street in Mount Airy, North Carolina. Mount
Airy is also located in the Yadkin Valley Wine Region home to over 24 Wineries.

Update

The family reunion is less than a month away and we are beginning to count down the days until we will all be together again after nearly 15 years. As of today we are 22 days away from the main event on Saturday, July 16, 2011!  We can't wait!!

Some of the finalized plans are being made. One of the biggest changes is that we have decided to scrap the idea of getting the space walk. The consensus was that it just wasn't cost effective for a single day of use. We have however come up with some other fun activities in the area that we will be able to take advantage of over the course of the weekend.

We have also given up on the cookbook idea for this year. We really didn't get enough response, so maybe next year.

Some events in the area will be-
